Save the date! Team Banquet October 25, 2009

Team players, coaches, parents and family members are invited to celebrate the Plymouth High School Boys Tennis Team division winning 2009-10 season at the annual banquet on Sunday, October 25, 2009.

The banquet will be held at the Summit on the Park in Canton from 6pm to 8pm. RSVP and money for the banquet (everyone pays $15) is due by October 11 to Dee Heinze. Check the events page for more details or download the banquet flyer (PDF) .

Schedule change for Saturday, September 26, team updates needed

The Wildcats junior varsity will be attending the KLAA JV Tournament this Saturday, September 26, 2009 on home courts. The tournament will host eight teams. Coach Tucker will be inviting the top 16 junior varsity players to attend the tournament; players will be told who be attending.

Junior varsity players need to be at the high school courts by 7:30am Saturday morning.

As many of you may know, I have evening classes this fall. With the assignment of my first class projects, I need to focus on my school work. Unfortunately, this means I no longer have 15-20 hours a week to attend team events.

I’m asking players and parents for help in gathering team updates. If you attend team activities, please email updates to me so the information can be shared on the team website and mailing list.

Celebrate Wildcats first ever division championship

Play like a superstar, party like a rockstar!

To celebrate the Wildcats first ever division championship, we will have a party at the Kimball home in Dexter, this Thursday, Sep 17, 2009.

Weather permitting, the party is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, food and fun. Map and additional details will be available soon.

No practice on Thursday, Sep 17, 2009.

Kickoff Dinner: September 3, 2009

Kickoff Dinner for the 2009-10 season will be at the Mitchell’s house on Thursday, September 3, 2009 after the match against Canton High School. All members and their families are invited; RSVP to the Mitchells by Monday, August 31.

For more details, check Events. Information about the Kickoff Dinner will be sent to all members of the mailing list next Sunday, handed out at the parents meeting on August 26, 2009, and posted to the Google Group later this week. If you don’t have the Mitchells contact information, check the Google Group for the team roster.

Kickoff Dinner for the 2008-09 season will be at the Mitchellâ€™s house on Friday, September 5, 2008 after the match against Skyline High School. All members and their families are invited; RSVP to the Mitchells by Monday, September 1.

Volunteers needed for summer concessions

Plymouth boys tennis has been asked to help out with concessions this summer at two tournaments at the PCEP courts. Can you help out and volunteer for one of the times?

We hope to raise enough money to buy more park benches to place around the courts. (It was so nice to sit on the benches at the girls regional tournament that we helped install last fall!)

Here’s the current list of the dates/times for volunteers, and which family has already signed up to volunteer. We need 1 parent and 1 tennis team player from our team for each time slot.

Friday, August 1, 2008, 4pm to 6pm: Cassity
Saturday, August 2, 2008, 10am to noon: Senkbeil
Saturday, August 2, 2008, 4pm to 6pm: Dwan

Wildcats Tennis Team Drop-in Tennis at PCEP

Come out to the park for tennis this spring and summer! Drop in for tennis on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7PM while school is in session. After school ends, stop by at 11AM and 7PM in June and July. Coach Kimball can supply you with extra tennis balls if needed.

2008 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship: May 10-11, 2008

Looking to see some great tennis this weekend? The University of Michigan Varsity Center in Ann Arbor is the place to be for the NCAA First and Second Rounds beginning Saturday, May 10, 2008 with the first round starting at 11AM.

Schools participating in the first and second rounds include Harvard University, Texas Tech (as of May 8, 2008, ranked #17), Western Michigan and University of Michigan (as of May 8, 2008, ranked 16th).
